Overview

How long is a river without an end?

And who would pass up an opportunity to meander along with it?

Welcome to Riviersonderend – and its rolling hills of farmland, all overlooked by the majestic Dasbarg peak in the distant mountains.

The “River-without-End does”, of course, eventually end somewhere, but only after 140km of meandering from its origins at the Theewaterskloof Dam.

The river gives this town its name, as one of eight towns on The Cape Country Meander.

This small town is known by travelers as a staging post, where holiday-makers and those on business stop to refuel both their cars and their bellies.

Few people see much more than the long, straight main road – but the little farming town offers a number of seldom-explored secrets.
